PEACH FUZZ

PANTONE COLOR OF THE YEAR 2024

“An unconventional shade for an unconventional time” is how Pantone describe their 2023 Color of The Year, PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta. Taking over from 2022’s Very Peri, this vibrant color puts the O into optimism, ushering in a more positive attitude after a challenging start to the decade.

WHY PEACH FUZZ?

When asked the question, the Pantone Color Institute reference our collective need for nurturing, empathy and compassion. In a time of increased turmoil in many parts of the world, Peach Fuzz, aka Pantone 13-1023, stands for caring, sharing, collaboration and a re-evaluation of values.

With technology accelerating and political change around us, we all hope for a peaceful future. We value good health and the ability and strength to enjoy it, inner strength and a positive mindset. We prize creativity and human connection, reframing how we want to live. Recalibrating our priorities to align with our internal values, we are focusing on wellbeing, both mental and physical, and cherishing what’s special — the warmth and comfort of togetherness and spending time with friends and family, or simply taking a moment of time to be with ourselves.

HOW DOES IT MAKE US FEEL?

Visually engaging, Peach Fuzz instinctively invites us to reach out and touch it. It draws us in with a soft magnetism, evoking the soft, springy, suede-y feel of peach skin: effortlessly strokeable, luxuriously soothing and comforting. Always welcoming, Peach Fuzz awakens our senses to tactility and cocooned warmth. It tempts the taste buds and initiates dreams of delicate, sweet aromas and delicious flavors.

ON THE PALETTE

A surprisingly versatile shade, Peach Fuzz can be used across a range of creative applications. Cool, modern and sensory in graphic situations where flat, matte Peach Fuzzy can be combined with neutral tones. Use it in portraiture when creating a range of skin tones or to add soft warmth when defining facial features. Fresh and alive when paired with earthy browns, it gives drama when paired with deep reds and plums. The Color of the Year adds an injection of early summertime lushness and health to botanicals and nature depictions, and finds its perfect home when creating evening skies, clouds, sea and landscapes.
