David’s work is a dance of time and chance. Inspired by the surrealist game ‘Exquisite Corpse,’ each piece begins with simple mark-making, using limited tools and colors. As the process unfolds, figures and shapes mysteriously emerge, textures grow and transform, resulting in artwork that is playful, emotional, and ineffable.

Based in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains in New York, the beauty of natural elements and quiet set the tone for David’s studio practice, with inspiration coming from painting outdoors and taking walks with his dog.
